I have been wagering poker now for about five years, I have played cards my entire life beginning with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various styles of Brag and general random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so gracefully called, card on head casino game. I used to often win, whatever casino game we were betting and although I liked to call it skill, it was extremely difficult to justify considering the randomness of the games we were betting, so I was over joyed to accept I was having a prolonged run of luck.
Then came Poker, or more importantly Texas hold'em Poker, made popular by a group of Texas card players in the 1960's and since grown into one of the biggest card phenomena ever experienced. Poker is totally the new black, it is ultra cool with quite a few of the world's leading super stars racing to have their name connected with it. Just a quick scan through the TV channels nowadays and you'll be able to not escape from poker, and naturally there is the fabled World Series of Poker, the Holy Grail and Mecca all combined into one for each and every individual gambler.
So with all of this new discovered recognition, with so several Tv shows devoted to poker, and magazine and book shelves loaded up with quality material written by the top minds on poker, when are persons going to learn that this game is all about position!?
